I was just visited by one of God’s most beautiful creatures. I was having breakfast on my BackPorch and appreciating the quiet and beautiful simplicity of a misty Saturday morning.
At the back of our yard I noticed a small bird in motion that had just left one of the branches of the fully bloomed-out Crepe Myrtle tree. The tiny bird swooped low, close to the ground to gain speed and then turned straight-up and landed perfectly on the shepherd’s hook that supports our hummingbird feeder. There it sat, straight in front of me, only about eight feet away, a brilliant golden yellow gold finch. Bright yellow breast, fully yellow-saturated back divided by a black stripe of wings.
A truly stunning moment to gaze upon a living thing of beauty for me to enjoy. A messenger to assure me that the world is a great place of creation that we should cherish and care for.
